Christopher M. Brown

Founder, Managing Partner //

Christopher Brown has provided strategic counsel for corporations, governments, and community institutions for over 20 years. He founded NRG in 2011 after serving as Counsel and Legislative Director to the U.S. House Committee on Education & Labor, and the U.S. House Committee on Energy & Commerce from 2006-2011. After Congress passed the U.S. trade agreement with Panama in 2010, Christopher relocated in-country and helped U.S. developers and investors engage Panamanian government and business officials to optimize growth and expansion in the region. He later opened the Washington office of PolicyLink, garnering bi-partisan support for President Obama's Community Revitalization Initiative by leading coalitions to secure over $1B in federal investments for hundreds of communities across the U.S.

Since then, Christopher has been policy counsel to two U.S. presidential campaigns (Clinton 2016, Biden 2020), top global financial and technology firms, members of Congress, gubernatorial candidates, and community institutions. Collectively, he has driven efforts to reform over 50 public policies and regulations, and steered over $2B in public & private investments.

A former Senior Vice President for Global Public Affairs at Citigroup (2021-2024), he shaped national corporate affairs strategies and over $1B in community development, small business, and impact investments. Christopher is a graduate and board member of the University of Georgia’s School of Public & International Affairs, and earned his JD at DePaul College of Law in Chicago. He holds Executive Management Certificates for Venture Capital and Corporate Governance from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and Santa Clara University’s Leavy School of Business, respectively, and has served on several boards and councils including SPUR (SF), and the University of California's Presidential Council on Small Business.

Christopher is a Venture Partner with U&I Ventures, advising founder CEOs and VCs across various Silicon Valley networks. Originally from Atlanta, he now lives with his daughters in San Francisco.

Ajamu Baker

Ajamu Baker brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience in areas including M&A, Venture Capital, and operations. A strategic thought partner to executives in disruptive growth enterprise efforts, Ajamu has led or helped guide successful execution of nearly $9B in technology deals across varied sectors including consumer electronics and cloud software.

As a Corporate Development lead at Google, he worked with business leaders in formulating and executing strategies in support of Google Cloud (Industry Solutions and AI/ML groups), Alphabet Bets (Loon and Wing), and the $100M Racial Equity fund for Black-led VC firms, start-ups, and organizations. Ajamu also previously served as Senior Manager of Corporate Development at Harman/Samsung where he led deals across its 4 divisions and as Cost Team Leader for the Purchasing organization at Caterpillar.

Ajamu is a graduate of the dual-degree engineering program at Morehouse College and Georgia Tech where he obtained BS degrees in Applied Physics and Mechanical Engineering.  He also holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Ajamu lives in Atlanta with his daughter and is an active supporter of the emerging tech community in the heart of the US South.
